ACCIDENT LESSONS AT THE FUKUSHIMA-DAIICHI NPP FOR THE SAFETY OF THE NUCLEAR POWER INDUSTRY IN UKRAINE

The main causes of destructive steam and gas explosions with catastrophic environmental consequences during the accidents at Fukushima-Daiichi NPP were loss tightness passive safety systems reactor residual fuel removal system critical heat function in spent nuclear holding tank . lesson Fukushima accident for Ukraine's power industry is need to anticipate possibility unlikely emergency events consequences. Such include: flooding plant site, complete long-term blackout, steam-gas explosions, joint action external extreme phenomena. Based on this, following lessons formulated Ukraine regarding consequences: 1 - reliable isolation diesel generator rooms from events; 2 improve strategies methods managing blackout 3 determine conditions explosions. known results analysis explosive plants WWER modeling dynamic stages processes.The calculated outages ways prevent manage outages.A promising approach integrated use additional ensure feeding generators turbopumps (area high pressures) natural circulation low pressures).
